I, Penitent

The confessional lattice becomes a veil, protective, ornamental, quietly severe. Beyond it, the world dissolves into bokeh and hush, a white figure holding the centre like light itself, while a pig on the left insists on the body and its needs, setting stillness against impulse, and mercy against desire.

Reflection

We want to be forgiven without being seen. We want to be seen without being judged. We build screens, rituals, manners, and intelligence to heal the self. But the self does not heal by remaining hidden in the darkness. The danger is hunger without love. Hunger without restraint. Hunger that mistakes itself for the pursuit of Truth.

Light shines through the carnal costumes we wear. It endures. It draws us near. Repentance begins where shame ends. It leaves no room for guises. None for pretence.
