Tamar Chatterjee
Lives and works in London, UK
Tamar Chatterjee’s work draws on the tension between opposing states. Darkness and light, bondage and freedom, despair and hope. It rests on the unseen tether that holds opposing states together in a fraught intimacy.
Working through symbolic figuration and narrative imagery, he turns to faith and reflection to inhabit the threshold between the visible and the invisible. In moving through shadow toward revelation, his practice asks what grace, suffering, and freedom look like when they remain bound to one another.
From no to yes. From bondage to freedom. From darkness to light. From despair in the seen to hope in the unseen.
